Philip Perre Basketball Career |
Born: April 29, 1979 in Grenada
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outlook:
Philip is an extremely explosive player that has great quickness and ability to get to the basket. A member of the English National Team, Philip can score from the outside at a good percentage, creates opportunities off the dribble for himself or his teammates, and finishes strong around the basket. Philip has great atheleticism and plays both ends of the floor making him a great all round player who plays with energy and passion. Philip possesses the remarkable ability to cause match up problems due to his ability to shoot and beat players off the dribble, he also possesses great post up abilities with an unselfish mentality. Philip excels on the break attacking the basket with great athletic ability but can also play half court basketball. A fair rebounder and defender...Philip will bring experience and leadership to any team.

Wats up world, Im back people.. Sorry I have been away for so long, been a rollercoaster season so far with highs and some lows, some great wins and some bad loses. But all in all a wonderful journey here in Egypt. Its been a serious adjustment with the amount of games we have been playing to anything I have been used to as a professional. 3 games in 3 days, has somewhat been very tough on my body, being seriously fatigued after the 3rd game. But the more I have played these many games 15 in 3 and half weeks, the more my body as adjusted and I have performed at the good level. As a professional in the game for all these years, taking care of your body is a most, especially playing so many games in a short period of time. The importance of taking care of my body has really come into play this season more than others, and I love the fact here in Cairo I have everything at arms reach from physio, treatment spas to my club. Heliopolis have done a good job making sure I have everything, and taking care of me on and off the court. But importantly our team Heliopolis Club have come together during the highs and lows and have gained some important wins, our lack of experience has hurt us some times but progression and learning to get better has kept us on the right path, helping us as a team achieve good things this season, from playing in the lower part of the league last season to now playing in the top half of the league this season. We now play in top part of the league against all the elite teams, live on national television.
A positive attitude always and thinking progression as really helped me in my career, think big, dream big, with work hard, nothing is impossible. My experience here is Egypt has been great, from seeing the great historic side of Egypt (The Giza Pyramids) to seeing the beautiful side of Egypt (Red Sea) to seeing our season on hold for a moth and half cause of protesting to do with the well being of the country, and having family and friends worried about me. But I must say things wasnt as bad as people thought it was, things are back to normal and the season is on its way. Our next focus is pushing for a good playoff position, and awaiting to do battle with the elite teams in the league. Gooooo Heliopolis
Hard work beats talent, if talent doesnt work hard..
