After five exciting rounds of WLBL action. We break down the top players for Stage One of the Women's Basketball League. Stage Two will start December 9, 2018.

Below we rank the top five local players in stage one.

5. Michaela Houser (170-PG-91, college: Purdue)

Hoops / Point Guard

WLBL Stage One Stats: 6- (23.0ppg), 6.3rpg, 4- (5.0apg), 3- (2.5spg)

Breakdown: KK Houser is by far the best athelete in the WLBL this season. Her ability to handle the ball is unlike anything we have seen in Lebanon. Match that handle with her blazing speed and jump shot and you have a dynamo import. At this point of the season it is safe to say she will be in the front runners position for Guard of the Year next to Rebecca Akl.

Houser best game was 31 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists versus Chabibeh Sporting Club.

+

4. Faith Randolph (178-G, college: Virginia)

Antranik / Combo Guard

WLBL Stage One Stats: 3- (25.7ppg), 5.0rpg, 4.0apg, 2.0spg

Breakdown: Faith Randolph has been perfect this season. The silent assassin continues to impress every team in the WLBL with her constant play. Randolph has Antranik in a great position going into the Second Stage to finish in the top two. Her ability to play both guard spots and lock down on each teams best ball handler makes her the perfect fit for a perfect team.

Randolph best game was 35 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists versus Energy Sporting Club.

+

3. Roneeka Hodges (180-G-82, college: Florida St.)

Al Riyadi / Combo Guard

WLBL Stage One Stats: 5- (23.0ppg), 7.6rpg, 2- (5.0apg), 1- (4.0spg)

Breakdown: Roneeka Hodges continues to be nothing sky of the perfect professional player for Al Riyadi Club. She is their best player, the best defender as well as the leader of the locker room. After spending over 6 season in the WNBA; Hodges has proven to be the most dominate player in the league the last few seasons. Some players decline when they are older, some players get better. Hodges is the player that continues to get better with time.

Hodges best game was 25 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists versus Homentmen.

+

2. April Sykes (182-G/F-90, college: Rutgers)

Homentmen / Swingman

WLBL Stage One Stats: 2- (25.7ppg), 9.7rpg, 3.0apg, 2.0spg

Breakdown: Some may question the top two positions but breakdowns don't lie. Sykes has proven to be maybe the best player in the WLBL last night. The versatile guard-forward dominated the best team in the league with 36 points and 9 rebounds Tuesday night. Sykes numbers don't tell the truth. But as her fitness continues to improve her numbers will sky rocket. WLBL teams need to beware of Stage Two because April Sykes is about to explode.

Sykes best game was 36 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists versus Riyadi.

+

1. Kristina King (180-PG-92, college: Richmond)

Chabibeh / Point Guard

WLBL Stage One Stats: 1- (27.0ppg), 3- (12.5rpg), 1- (7.0apg), 3- (3.0spg)

Breakdown: It brings me pain to post on this player. Never have we seen a player as versatile as Kristina King. Shes a 5'11 point guard that has shown the ability to play every position on the court. How can we hide the fact that Chabibeh has no National Team players but dominated the WLBL best (Homentmen) team with just 6 minutes remaining in the game. King finished the game early with an season ending knee injury. A injury that the whole WLBL morns for her. King posted a triple double in this game along with guarding April Sykes full time (holding her to just 10 points). We have always been taught to appreciate great players when they come. Well Kristina King. The WLBL honors you and wish you a speedy recovery!!!!!

Kings best game was 44 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists versus Energy Club.

Balance attack of Riyadi hold off Chabibeh's hot start - Jan.15, 2018  (by Ghassan)

Chabibeh Sporting Club came out fighting versus the high powered Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut Club Sunday night; but it wasn't enough as Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut rallied for a 82-65 win. Chabibeh controlled the game defensively throughout the first half; but the WLBL power came on strong in the second half to dominate the remaining of the game. Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut had a balance attack from its starters as all five player scored in double figures. Shanece McKinney (193-F-92, college:... [read more]

After a great defensive performance in the first half by Hoops Club; Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut only scored 29 points. After the first half the Lebanese power club rallied to beat Hoops Club 71-62. Roneeka Hodges (180-G-82, college: Florida St.) was again the story for Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut scoring 20 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Chirine El Charif (185-C-84) was a monster in the post. Hoops ink Tiasha Gray, ex Bnot Hertzeliya- Jan.11, 2018  (by Ghassan)

Hoops Club (WLBL) agreed terms with 24-year old American guard Tiasha Gray (170-94, college: Austin Peay State). She supposed to play at Bnot Hertzeliya in Israeli D1 league, but left the team in Oct.'17. In four games she had very impressive stats: 16.3ppg, 6.5rpg and 5.3apg this season. The last season Gray played at Mark in Swedish Damligan where in 23 games she recorded also remarkable stats: 24.3ppg, 7.5rpg, 5.4apg and 3.6spg. Quite impressive season as she was voted Eurobasket.com A... [read more]
