Raul
Cardenas
The Playoff begins in their first stage with the Quarterfinals. Club Iccan de Macas, Barcelona Sporting Club, Importadora Alvarado Ambato and Piratas de Los Lagos will have the advantage to play in their home two of the three matches of this stage. The format is the best of three matches, and obviously the health, focus and pace of each teams will be the key to keep advancing in the tournament.
Club Iccan de Macas who had the best record of the regular season, start their series againts Triple E-Uda, the only team that did not win games in the regular season. Club Iccan de Macas have a strong offensive weapons, and with health is highly probable that wont have problem to settle this series. Juan Herrera (197-F-81), Cesar Silva (190-G/F-81) and Jesus Centeno (190-G-85) have a lot experience in Venezuelan Playoff, and in another Leagues, for this reason, to Juan Jose Pidal it must be easy. The previously match was 101x64 and 97x75 both matches in favor of the Macas team.
Barcelona Sporting Club surprised for all the health troubles. At the end of the regular seasons finished in the 2nd place and right now have a dangerous teamwork. The health of Marvin Cairo (201-G/F-91, agency: Pro Sports) and Manuel Hurtado (198-F/C-90) will be the key of the Barcelonas performance. If Raul Cardenas (190-G-82, college: Faulkner) is kept with his good step ( despite of the health trouble), and the new sensation, Sam Prescott (190-G-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) follow his good perfomance, will be hard to HR Portoviejo defend it. HR had have good nights and slightly promising presentations. But they have Adriano Barreras (184-PG-92) who has have the offensive reference of the individual perfomance in the league. HR won in re Schedule match where Barcelona did not have all their roster ( 81-77), and three days before Barcelona had won to HR 88x53.This series not shown easy, but a Little advantage to Barcelona.
Piratas went down in the last weeks, they lose their matches with Club Iccan de Macas and Importadora, but won their last match of the regular season in front Triple E-Uda. For many of the league coachs this is the must complete roster, and the most experience player : Rafael Perez (193-G/F-82, agency: Paris Global Sports). They have a good point guard skills with Anibal Malatay and Perez, and the defensive contribution with Willye Clayton. But sometimes the bench had not good performance, and when the starting lineup had have trouble, the headache start to Lucas Gil coach. Juvenil de Vinces had showed a spectacular offensive triangle: Lenin Lopez (198-F-91), Jovanni Diaz (195-G-92) and Nelson Palacios (192-SF-92), but the point guard player are their main weaknes. Add up they did not show depth bench options and sometimes they lose the concentration into the game. The series remained levelled, Juvenil de Vinces won his match at home 67x62, and Piratas won their last match 79x57.
The series that shines must exciting should be Importadora against Leones. Leones had have differents trouble with injury and irregular deffensive yields. Some matches their long shot worked but another at all. The Corbin Jackson (203-F-92, college: Florida Tech) performance has been the safe card to Carlos Gorosito outline. Javinger Vargas (202-C-90), Daniel Guayaquil, Andres Cochambay (191-F-87) and Jose Acosta (185-PG-92) must wake up to make progress in this series. Importadora has been a great performance of Jerel Blocker (193-G/F-88, college: Lee) and Tavarez Sledge. With the Nixon Mina (205-F/C-90) penalty, Jhon Romero (199-F-85) has have to take a defensive responsabilty. Importadora has many Young players whose performance going to be important for the Luciano Martinez coach. Christian Orozco (182-PG-94) has not good health in this season, and next to Nixon Mina will go to be the key for the Importadora chance. In the first of his series Leones took advantage winning 68x62, and in their last confrontation Importadora won 80x67.
The cards are on the table. It is a new stage and a surprise is not unlikely. Club Iccan de Macas and Barcelona show more arguments and their series looks more affordable.

Leones de Riobamba took the last ticket to the semifinal of the Ecuador LNB with a victory over Importadora Alvarado 61x70 in match that was played in Ambato this Saturday night. Until the 3rd quarter the actions was close, but the offensive reaction of the Carlos Gorosito 's team reach the pace to over the Importadora's defensive strategies and took the advantage of the scoreboard without to lose it by the rest of the match. The keys for the Riobamba coach was the intensity with that the... [read more]

Only concern for the healthy and the Playoff- Sep.1, 2017  (by Roberto)

For the Importadora Alvarado coach Luciano Martinez , his focus are in the post season competition and how his team will can get to playoff. We have two important matches against Barcelona Sporting Club in away and at home with Leones de Riobamba said Martinez. The team have lost Nixon Mina (205-F/C-90) for the next two matches, for this reason having give more deffensive responsabilities under the hot zone to Jhon Romero(199-F-85) who has had biggest performance in his lastes two matches...
