BLOG POSTINGS
Preserverance - Feb 14, 2013
What up Eurobasket its been some time since I've sat down and wrote a blog. Its only right that I take the time to write this one addressing not only myself and the current status of my career, but just touch on a subject many people dont see when it comes to playing professionally. This year I'm back in the states playing in the new league they started called the ABL (American Basketball League). This is the first professional league in the states to use Fiba rules. Just like any new league it has its ups and downs. Personally I miss you Europe and look forward to getting back over there, but this league isint so bad. I'm close to home so I get to spend more time with friends and family. The talent is pretty good. There are guys looking to go overseas for the first time, and there are guys who have played for yrs overseas. So with the mix of the younger guys and their hunger and the years of experience of the older guys makes up a great dynamic of the league. The refs are trying to learn fiba rules on the fly which makes the games inconsistent at times but with time it will get better. The number of guys looking for jobs overseas has increased, but on the flip side the number of jobs has decreased. Ideally i wanted to be back in europe but it wasnt in gods plan for me this season. I could have looked at this as a set back in my career but I'm blessed to have a great support group around me to remind me this is what the grind is all about. Its not how many times you get knocked down but how may times you get up. This is another step headed towards the top. I get to use the league for great game shape, and still play against some good competition to continue to develop and work on my game. A lot of people see the glam of playing professionally, travleing the world, getting paid to do what you love, but what people dont see is the constant uncertainty. We sacrifice a lot to do this so i want to take the time out to shout out all my dudes out there following their dream. May god continue to bless you all with much success. Everyday is a grind, its all about embracing it. Love what you do and do what you love!! I'm so thankful and so blessed to be apart of something new and i plan to keep and eye on this league for years to come even when i return to europe!! As season begin to wind down, best of luck to my guys out there getting it. Bring back that hardware!! Until next time be blessed, and of course LOVE GOD LOVE LIFE!!!
