TIPS!!! - Sep 4, 2012

This week i wanted to share some TIPS or Do's and Dont's. When coming to play with a team in europe.

First Tip..DONT show up out of shape or in ok shape. Many teams have clauses in the contracts thats they can release a player with in the first two weeks up to a month. So that means they will put you back on a plane to the U.S.A with know pay and no reason why they let you go. Some players think the 6 weeks training camp is to get in shape thats the biggest mistake you can make. You dont want to give teams anyway reasons to think they made the wrong pick with hiring you. Must european teams training camps are 2 a days with one practice in the morning and one in the evening and both practices will make you feel like you on a cross country team. So help your self and get in great shape before getting to your team.

TIP 2: IMAGE..What i am by image is how you carry yourself on and off the court. Many europeans already think U.S players think there the best and are cocky which many of us are. (me not included haha) So don't go into your new team with a superstar image because if they was the case you would be in the league not overseas. The local players will never get released because of a american player doesn't like them but alot of american players have and will get released because they local players don't like them. so talk and interact with your teammates don't be that guy standing and sitting alone and to the side. It will be up to you to connect with you teammates so make the effort. Its 10 month in a new world or at least it will feel that way your gonna need them on and off the court.

TIP 3:ENTERTAINMENT...A computer is a must this will be your life line. you will watch tv on it. you will talk to your family and friends on it. you will keep up with the news, sports. weather or whatever is going on in the states. of course you will have to get your twitter , facebook and instagram fix cause people these days cant go ten minutes with updating or tweeting. As for other things you can get to help with passing the time by is a slingbox. this box allows you to get the channels you have at home in the state to steam through your pc. so you can watch love and hip hop and bet, usa and any other of your favorites. its about 150-200 and its worth every penny. other good devices are the apple tv and the roku box. if you a younger guy and you not a game head its time to start. The PS3 or Xbox will become your bestfriend.

Hope this helps at least one person if so then thats works for me. Im not the know it all of european basketball but i just want to help. Thanks for reading.

Take Care and GOD BLESS!!! CHOSEN LAST BUT BEST PICK.

Tough Days....- Dec.11, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog. Pardon me I have been on some other stuff. But I'm back and around my way it's been a tough few weeks. 1-4 in our last five games dealing with more injuries and this French weather is no joke. Talk about highs and lows to start the season 6-0 and life is smooth then to go 1-4 your next 5 and seems like the world is crashing down. For me I know the season is long and you can't get to high or to low [read more]
Off to a good start!!- Oct.29, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Just a quick update on how the season is going. After the first month we a sitting at 5-0 and still have room to improve. We also won our first French cup game. I have been playing very well and I'm having fun playing with my teammates. The next couple of weeks will be tough. I suffered a back injury and a dislocated finger. So rest and treatment is in order [read more]
Win or go home- Oct.21, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Many players and all Americans know this and if you don't you will find out quick . The game brings all of "us" players joy and we love the it. But there are things that can be fixed and we can start with clubs giving up on the import players so quick. We all know the local players almost never get released. The first ones to go are the imports (players from a different country then he is playing in) weather your having a good season or not if your team is losing you will be the escape goat [read more]
