| Summer, Summer, Summertime!!- May.1, 2012 (by Eurobasket Center) Hello Euro Basket!! Its the summer for me and now its time to prepare my body for rest and my family. Hello Euro Basket!! Its the summer for me and now its time to prepare my body for rest and my family. I have been playing a tough season and you have to reward your body with rest. As much as you think you can play basketball for ever, you have to rest your body in order to continue playing basketball. You have to spend time with your family and kids and relax. I have been fortunate enough to play this game for and I'm going to prepare myself like I have each summer. First, rest and relaxation, letting your body rest and healing all the injuries that you may have. Second have a family vacation and spend time with family and kids. Third, exercise jogging and running and playing pick up. Last, lifting and getting your shooting routine by for your next job. Well its time to enjoy my summer!!

Hello Eurobasket!! Its been a long time since I have wrote a blog about my basketball and the many other events that has occured in my life. First of all, I would like to say that I love my wife Angela and my three kids, Ivan II, Matthew and Mikayla for being so patience and loving while I'm overseas playing basketball and being far far away. I love them alot. Secondly, I would like to thank the Eurobasket website for accepting my blogs and encouraging other players to express their feeling being overseas.
As you know I was in Australia and I had another great year in Bendigo leading the league in rebounding and top ten in scoring. I made all-star five and mvp of my team. We won our conference final for the second time in a row but fail to win the grand finale. It was a great time being there but I had to go somewhere and better my chances to get back to the NBA. After I arrived home for Australia, I received a message that would be a change for the good!! A coach from Japan named Bruce Palmer, that saw me play in Bendigo was interested in me and he wanted to come to Japan and tryout for a team named Tochigi Brex. The team had lost their import to a shoulder injury and I felt that it was a good opportunity for me to take.
When I got there, it felt a little weird because it was my first time in Japan and the language was a BIG factor when I got over to Japan. The city that I played my ball in, which is Utsunomiya, was a good city and the people are awesome. I felt like this was a great chance to show my talents and get my name back on the eurobasket circuit. This was a season that I will never forget and I will tell you why...
First my stats were 15.6 points per game (6th), 9.7 rebounds per game (2nd), 1.5 assists per game, 1 steal per game, 0.8 blocks per game, 54% for the field, 33% from 3 and 67 from the line while playing 29.5 minutes per game and 36 games. This was one of my best season playing overseas and I feel that it made me better and I know that I am a GREAT player. I still have alot more in the tank for me to play and I'm going to continue so my family and I will be ok and fine.
This summer is going to be very busy with working out, possibly some NBA workouts and summer league and it will challenge me alot. Taking care of my three kids and my wife will be hard but fun and this is the challenge that I need in my life too. There is alot to come and I know that have been away for a while but its time to get back and I am starting in my prime now so it should be fun and exciting!! Bye Bye for now!!

What up world!!!!! Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Brian Harper (208-F/G-85, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Paine) Im a 69 SF and for the last four years I have been playing professional basketball. Its crazy saying that lol, I'm a pro ball player!! It's a dream come true being able to do what I love and get paid for it is definitely a blessing!! I'm originally from Tennessee but have lived in Atlanta since I was eight or so .......so Atl is home! God has blessed me so much in my life and continues to do so all the time! Ok now let's talk ball for a min......... I love this game, I breathe it! I put the work in on and off the court and because of that the game has been good to me. I approach this game like I do everything else in my life with discipline, hard work, respect and dedication. I played my college ball at Paine College; a D2 HBCU in Augusta Ga , and since turning pro have played in Norway, South Korea, The NBA-DL, and Japan. This will be my second full season in Japan and will be my second full season playing in the BJ League for the Toyama Grouses. When I arrived in Japan I instantly knew I was going to like it! Not only is it a beautiful place but the people are some of the nicest people you will ever met and the fans are some of the best in the world shout out to the Grouses Fans...y'all know I gota rep!! Last season was tough but necessary one for my team. We didn't do as well as we wanted but as a young team we grew a lot ...man I know I did! Life overseas in its own is can be crazy, being away from home, your loved ones, and being tossed into a culture that at times can be vastly different then your on can sometimes be a lot. But when the lights come on and it's time to ball.....IM HOME!!!! I'm really excited about this up coming season! We have made some new additions to the team both domestic and foreign and I think we have the kind of team that can really make some noise this year. We have a team full of skilled and super athletic Americans, and added some great Japanese talent to the roster! Toyama coming dis year if ya don't know now ya know!!!!!!!! As for me I'm looking to add on to what was a productive last season. My main goal this season is to do everything I can to lead this team to a BRAKE out season!!! With the group of guys we got this year it might just get ugly.....................
Im looking forward to sharing this season with you all the good and the bad! Stay tuned its about to be a crazy ride!!!!
