Whats Good World, Its been awhile but im glad to be back playing basketball overseas. I had a great summer, by taking some time off away from the game and on vacation. I had my second annual basketball camp in my home town and it was a huge success. It was a week long and im sure all the kids had a great time, got some experience and learn a lot about skills, fundamentals and teamwork. Soon after i begin my offseason training and refreshment for this upcoming season. Arrival to the UK for training camp was something new because last year the Raiders were already in season. Im glad i was able to be apart of the program the organization had in place for us. Our strenghten and conditioning coach "Charlie" does amazing work. Now the season has started, although we have some good chemistry because of the group of guys coach signed. There is always room for improvement. Coach did a great job of bringing 2 of my former teammates from the Cheshire Jets to Plymouth. Speaking of the Jets, its great to see them find away to stay in the league. I support them every game with the exception of when we play them lol. But i am very pleased that Colin and Matt has joined our core group this year instead. We are going to be a more uptempo team this year which suits my game well. Its going to be a fun year as we are on a chase for Championships!!! Til next time, Stay up Jeremy Bell

David Watts | Home Sweet Home..for now.- Apr.17, 2012 (by Eurobasket Center) Ayeup and good afternoon (evening to everybody back in England) to all. I am currently back and Boston and the weather has been pretty lovely thus far. The only complaint I can muster up is the fact that my parents have decided to take it upon themselves to steal my air conditioner. This selfish act has left me with no choice but to create and use a paper fan which frankly, might go down as the top 10 worst arts and craft creation ever. Moving on [read more] | |
Ayeup and good afternoon (evening to everybody back in England) to all. Moving on.. The season ended a few weeks ago and we ended up just short of making the playoffs. Would of liked nothing else more than to have a crack at winning it all since we really started to pick things up in the later parts of the season. But alas, too little too late. I still wouldnt trade this past season with my teammates and club family for anything. I had a solid year, picked up a lttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUHIhqCXePgot, and managed to make a second home in Mansfield. In the meanwhile, Im excited to use the summer to work on my game and get ready for the journey ahead.
If you want to check out my highlights from this past season in England with the Giants, here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUHIhqCXePg&feature=relmfu

Its March 15, 2012 and I am truly blessed and thankful to see another day. My ears are still buzzing from last nights home win at Oak Tree Centre. We managed to beat local rivals Sheffield Arrows, in what was a pretty big game for us. We are now one spot of of the final playoff spot and need to win most of these remaining games to make an honest run at it. We've been plagued by injuries the entire season and have been adding new faces and personnel left and right. Yet, it's safe to say that we are finally starting to find our stride while becoming a pretty tough unit to deal with.
If your not up to date, I am a US import that currently plays for the Mansfield Giants in the England Basketball League. I signed out here in October and I could have not been surrounded by a better club and a group of supporters out here. These folks have easily become my second family and home away from home. (Which leads to the cheap plug of my hometown BOSTON!) My teammates have also been great, just for the simple fact of how loose we all keep each other during 'tense' moments. An example of how relaxed we actually are comes in the form of a story with me at the free throw line the other night. I knock the first free throw down and look up to see my teammate approaching to give the expected traditional hi-five and 'good job, make this next one' routine. Instead, my teammate walks up to me and decides to bark like a dog-- very loudly. Words of endearment would of been nice but it seems that whenever we have fun and stay focused, we get out there and get the job done.
With our win in London over the weekend and our victory last night, we'll be looking to try and ride this wave into the playoffs. Till then, GOD bless!-- Jean-Paul Marcellus (196-G/F-86, college: E.Nazarene)
