Marshall
I would like to wish everyone a happy Easter and I send blessings from Lille, France. For those just joining my blogs, my name is Curtis Marshall (198-G/F-83, agency: R.H.Consultancy, college: Texas Tech) and I play for Lille Metropole Basket Clubs. With only 5 games left in the regular season, my team is tied for 6th position. Only the top 8 teams go to the playoffs so we are focused on finishing the regular season off strong. It wont be easy because 4 out of the 5 games are against teams ranked higher than us and we are on the road for 3 of those games. We are confident in our abilities and know we can win these games. On Friday we got a well deserved win against JA Vichy Val d'Allier Auvergne basket, a very dangerous team that is fighting to stay in ProB. Many probably don't remember that early in the season we lost to JA Vichy Val d'Allier Auvergne basket and gave them their first win of the season. With this win we have a two game lead between teams that are ranked lower than 8th position. We should have a 3 game lead but we dropped a game on the road against lower ranked Quimper UJAP, who is also fighting to stay in ProB. These can be the hardest games to play at times because if you let these teams stick around a gain confidence, they are very hard to beat. The focus is not on the past but on these last 5 games, finishing the regular season off strong, and making a run in the playoffs. The thing about ProB is that if you lose a few games you will move down significantly in the rankings because a lot of the teams are very close together in the rankings. Same thing goes for winning, when we went on our 8 game winning streak this season, we moved from 16th position to being tied for 5th position. Three more wins will secure us a playoff spot, but we will not settle for three, we need to win the last five games.

I'm still enjoying my time spent in Lille. Now that the weather has warmed up, I can take my daughter out to the park more to let her play. She also goes to daycare two times a week but since there are so many kids there she can only go for 3 hours. This really makes it hard for me because on the days that she goes to daycare I dont get rest in between practices. I can overlook the tiredness because it gives my daughter time to play with other kids her age and also gives my wife some free time away from our daughter. For those who have kids around age 2 you know how important it is to have some free time for yourself. I thank God for everything he has done and is doing in my life. I do not take anything for granted, I'm proud with what I have. I want everyone who reads this to know that Jesus loves you. No matter what you are going through God is always with you. When things dont turn out the way you want, it only means that God has something better for you and what you wanted was too small for you. Remember this; there is always a test before a testimony, and purpose has a process. 'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose'--Romans 8:28. Don't forget to check out my official website because it will be a blessing to you, http://www.MarshallTime.com. Until next time, Curtis Marshall signing off, may God bless you all in a tremendous way!!!!

Tough Days....- Dec.11, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog. Pardon me I have been on some other stuff. But I'm back and around my way it's been a tough few weeks. 1-4 in our last five games dealing with more injuries and this French weather is no joke. Talk about highs and lows to start the season 6-0 and life is smooth then to go 1-4 your next 5 and seems like the world is crashing down. For me I know the season is long and you can't get to high or to low [read more]

Just a quick update on how the season is going. After the first month we a sitting at 5-0 and still have room to improve. We also won our first French cup game. I have been playing very well and I'm having fun playing with my teammates. The next couple of weeks will be tough. I suffered a back injury and a dislocated finger. So rest and treatment is in order [read more]
Win or go home- Oct.21, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Many players and all Americans know this and if you don't you will find out quick . The game brings all of "us" players joy and we love the it. But there are things that can be fixed and we can start with clubs giving up on the import players so quick. We all know the local players almost never get released. The first ones to go are the imports (players from a different country then he is playing in) weather your having a good season or not if your team is losing you will be the escape goat [read more]
