Whats going on world! Been a while since I last posted a blog, but I'm back to fill you guys in on how my first couple of years as a Pro started off. It all begin in 2005 at Karhut Kauhajoen (1st Division) Finland where head coach Greg Gibson gave me a great opportunity and a chance to showcase my skills at the pro level. My HUNGER to make it to the TOP was on another level. I knew it wasn't the best paying job in the world but I was doing something that I loved doing in another country, it was truly a BLESSING!! So continued working hard and getting better each day in the land of the SNOW (lol). Knowing that if I had a good year that it could only better my chances of getting a even better gig the following season. So we ended up making the playoffs for the 1st time in Karhu history that year and finished up in 3rd place which was big for us! Following that, I went back home and worked my a$$ off in the off season once again improving on my weaknesses! So the summer went on and got a call from a team in Lithuania. (Neptunas, Klaipeda/ Lithuania-LKL & Baltic League) I'll tell you this, I didn't know one thing about the country (lol)! But one thing I did know is that it was another step closer to my dream. So next you know I was on a plane headed to LT! What an experience coming from Detroit, MI ending up in Klaipeda. God put me in good hands once again with a cool coaching staff and great teammates that was ready to work together to get the job done. We went on to 3rd in the regular season and making it the farthest in the playoffs in clubs history. Another good year under my belt as a PRO baller. After my 06-07 season in LT, I went back to the drawing board. Now my agents is finding jobs in France and Italy. I choose to agree terms with (SPO Rouen Basket/ France-ProB) where I spent my following 2 seasons playing after winning a championship there in Pro B and moving the team up to the highest level in France (Pro A). After helping keep SPO Rouen up in Pro A I moved on to another team that was in Pro B France/ Etendard de Brest where I only played half the season due to injury. This was my hardest times as a ball player. It takes a great amount of mental toughness to get through a season ending injury. But my drive and resiliency to get back on the court and be ready for the 2010 season is what got my through those hard times. So the 2010 summer was here, and i was feeling better than ever! God was on my side and I had got the chance to workout in Training Camp with San Antonio Spurs (NBA) for a couple of days. What an experience to get out there and go up against some of the big names in the league. It was one of the best learning experiences in my life. After that I was ready for the 2010-11 season to began. Now at this point I had played 5yrs in Europe and was thinking of opening new doors in my career so my agent told me about Australia.. Yea, same thing I said?!?! lol 'You talking about where they breed Kangaroos? hahaha' YUP, 'the good ole country DOWN UNDER' my agent replied. After asking all of my friends that played over in Australia they were telling me nothing but great things about it and now I see why.. it's a beautiful country and place to live! Cairns, Aus was my next stop. The Tropic's is what I call it. Love it up there on and off the court. The fans were the best in the league and we had a group of guys that was ready for new challenges. We had played ourselves into a top 4 spot given us a entry into the playoffs and made it all the way to the Grand Finals.. 1st time in Cairns history. It felt great to be back on a good track after coming off a injury the previous year. After another hard working summer went by, I received a call from Melbourne Tigers. One of the well-known clubs out here in Australia. I was once again excited about starting a new journey with new faces after coming up short in game 3 of the grand finals the previous year. With one more game to go in the 2011-12 season I'll say that we've had our ups and downs this season. But one thing that we can control is our controllables. Meaning: The things you are responsible for and can control and can do something about! Which for me is finishing hard with no regrets and continuing on getting better each day.
Keep GOD 1st and all will fall into place...Believe That!!
