March Madness has begun - Mar 14, 2012

I fell asleep last night to NCAA basketball. BYU vs Iona, as much as I am routing for all WCC schools to advance to the next round! I was sure BYU was going to lose. I literally woke up to 'I wonder how many points BYU lost by.' In the spirit of March Madness they proved all things possible, winning the game and pulling off the biggest come back in NCAA Tournament history! I love NCAA March Madness! The game just before BYU, I watched WKU come from 16pts down with 5 minutes to go. President Obama was even in the building, he and the British Prime Minster where in the front row watching! Had to be a great experience for the student athletes to play in front of the President of the United States!

As for myself and basketball things are going well, just 9 games left until the end of the regular season! We are still currently in 1st place but not by much! I've been bang up the past couple weeks with a sprained wrist, but things are better now. Reminds me of my college day with Coach Holland, he would always say to us, 'Are your hurt son or are you injured?' I am good Coach!!! Excited to hit the home stretch and have an opportunity to move the team up to the next league. Every game is going to be a battle, and with only 9 games left every game is crucial for the final standings! As for Zoi she's has 4 games left and is already begun negotiation with other European teams for next year. They have the opportunity to make the top 4 in the league, but the need to win out right the rest of their games. Her team is also in the French Cup Semifinals, they still have a lot to play for!

My brother recently visited us here in France and we had a great time! Being from a military family he spent a lot time in Europe as a kid, he was actually the German translator for the family. It was his first time back to Europe as an adult, and we he had a great time. Seen Paris, the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, and got try some the traditional French cuisine. He wouldn't try the beef tartar but liked the fragua. He always watching Bizarre Food with Andrew Zimmern and telling me about it, so I am a little disappointed he was scared to try the tartar (literally raw beef, google it lol)!!

In my free time I've been working on mastering Greek, I hope in the future I'll be able to write a blog in Greek! Even my French is getting a little better, but I am not comfortable with it yet! Till next time, enjoy the Madness of March!!!

Tough Days....- Dec.11, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog. Pardon me I have been on some other stuff. But I'm back and around my way it's been a tough few weeks. 1-4 in our last five games dealing with more injuries and this French weather is no joke. Talk about highs and lows to start the season 6-0 and life is smooth then to go 1-4 your next 5 and seems like the world is crashing down. For me I know the season is long and you can't get to high or to low [read more]
Off to a good start!!- Oct.29, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Just a quick update on how the season is going. After the first month we a sitting at 5-0 and still have room to improve. We also won our first French cup game. I have been playing very well and I'm having fun playing with my teammates. The next couple of weeks will be tough. I suffered a back injury and a dislocated finger. So rest and treatment is in order [read more]
Win or go home- Oct.21, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Many players and all Americans know this and if you don't you will find out quick . The game brings all of "us" players joy and we love the it. But there are things that can be fixed and we can start with clubs giving up on the import players so quick. We all know the local players almost never get released. The first ones to go are the imports (players from a different country then he is playing in) weather your having a good season or not if your team is losing you will be the escape goat [read more]
