My time in uruguay has come to an end.Its been a pleasure and an honor to play in this beautiful country. But as always this is a business in this sport we call basketball.. My time in uruguay has come to an end.Its been a pleasure and an honor to play in this beautiful country. But as always this is a business in this sport we call basketball.. Being in uruguay for this past season has been fun.. I visited this this little city name PUNTA DEL ESTE. man i had a blast there.i have never seen so many people on the beach until i went there.it was like the entire city was on the beach. If you ever come to uruguay u deff need to go there. I never thought i would surf but i did in punta del este. i salute the guys who surf for a living. I thought it would be easy since i was athletic. ahahaha boy was i wron.its sad to say i only stood up on the board one time and road a wave. I tried and tried for about 30 minutes but couldnt but my goal was to stand up on the board at least one time.
I thought uruguay was weak basketball league but its really not. I think it will be a better league if every team could have 3 americans. if that happened you wouldnt have only a few teams winning the championship every year. this year will be a battle for the championship,theres a lot of solid teams. Bohemios have been on a hot streak. They came out of nowhere to get into the top 8, then you have herbraica and welcome who are 2 pretty tough teams..those were the only 2 teams i had trouble scoring on.i salute the coaching staff for those teams.
I finished the season on a good note, at least thats what i think. but this season had brought me alot of laughs and just a few a few happy moments. The most frustrating thing about this year for me was being doubled and tripled team.but it is what it is. the door to this season here in uruguay has closed but hopefully another will open. shout to mr donkey, one of coolest dudes in uruguay.

The month of december has been a good month for me..putting up some pretty nice numbers this month.the biggest thing for a player is not to let the little success go to his/her head and think they are better than what they are..no disrespect to the uruguay league but to me if you are successful in the nba then u have accomplished alot.and im deff not in the NBA.alot of work needs to be done before i can get on that level. I think for me i am my biggest critic.i know i can do much better than what i am doing but i find myself excepting the playing level that i am playing at,knowing that i can play at a higher level..but that is something that i have to fix myself. throughout out this month i found out being humble gives me more satisfaction than getting recognition and who rah rah's. I use to be the most cocky person out there,it was to a point where i mentioned myself in a third person (b.brown) i know crazy right. i use to always look at my stats after the game just to see how many i had, win or lose. i know i know terrible right.. After i finished my junior year i skipped my senior season to turn pro cause 'b.brown'thought he was the bleep<<< yall know what that mean. but i quickly found out that there were so many 'b.browns' over seas that it wasnt even funny,and there were alot of players that were better than me in bigger leagues than i have played in.
It took me a year or so to understand overseas basketball. its deff not like college ball or any basketball played in the states.its a whole different basketball world.i thought i was going to go overseas and continue my success that i had in college. Boy was i wrong. Its like starting all over again. I instantly became a rookie at the bottom of the food chain. U have to work your way back up to the top. I had to find that out the hard way. I bounced around my first year pro went to 3 different teams,never getting the hang of this overseas ball.but in my second year i kinda started getting the picture..I started to understand i couldn't take the game for fun anymore,and if i wanted to do this i had to start taking it serious because these clubs are paying you money to play for there team. its a BUSINESS. Dont get me wrong,i I LOVE THIS GAME AND LOVE PLAYING IT, but at the end of the day its a business and clubs treat it as such. when i figured this out i understood one of my old coaches (Jeff Oliver cal state san bernardino )old sayings ITS A BUSINESS BUB. he told this to one of my college teammates and good friend of mines when he said he couldnt give him more scholarship money.i just thought he was being selfish or just not wanting to give him more scholly money. But as i continued my career i found he was right. ITS A BUSINESS. Even though it was schooly they just werent going to give u a hand out.just like when you work your boss dont just hand out raises.
Im with a club named Club Trouville. Its been a up and down season for us so far. We have beaten a few of the top teams in this league.but to me there really isnt a top team because any team can be beatin by anyone in this league. we are trying to put a string of WINS together but we just cant get over the hump to put more than 2 together.great teams find a way but i think we are a pretty good team and its just a matter of time before we start to put more than 3-6 wins in a row.i know we can do it..we always manage to bet up on a team by double digits but seem to get relaxed and before you know it,its a tie ball game.. when u are up by double digits u have to know how to step on a teams neck and not let them breathe <<<< non violent way<<<<
