Friends,
a lot has happened since I last wrote here, mostly because that is the way sports is, a lot of things taking place all the time. It is also so that Yours truly is involved with a lot of different stuff within this beautiful game.
There is ToPo, my club team (13-10), there is the national team program, there is different education stuff and also my talent group at Espoo Basket Team. It may sound a lot, but I just love it!

Here a short version about what has happened lately:

Early January we travelled to Tallinn with the U16 national team after four days of camp. Latvia, Estonia and Sweden were waiting for us in Baltic Sea games.
We were missing a lot of guys for variety of reasons (=different injuries), but still: we should have done better, we played OK vs. Latvia (lost by ten) and Estonia (-3), but Sweden was just too good for us (-30). We have to learn from this, get all the people we were missing back and most importantly we will have to work HARD before the summer.

Had to worry about all the losses only a couple of days and off to Norway it was. The Norwegian federation organized a clinic and I was there to talk and teach defense. The other lecturers I met were Janez Drvaric (Coach I am already using Your Motion Offense), Torbjorn Gehrge (Coach, Will use some of Your stuff soon) and Mathias Eckhoff (Coach still waiting for that match-up zone of Yours). Great guys and great coaches, it was an honour to be there.
Had a great time and met a lot of extremely nice people.
Saw also the Norwegian allstar game which was nice extra.

ToPo then... the Finnish league is such a tough one this year, almost anybody can win it this year, the bottom teams has gotten their act together (new players, players back from injuries etc.) and seems that the fight for homecourt advatage will be extremely tough.
Kataja has taken command of the lague and will most likely win the regular season, like they won the Finnish cup Yesterday (Congratulations to all the nice pople at the city of Joensuu!) But after Kataja it will be anybodys position, number 2 after regular season that is. And we will part of that competition.

Need to go now, time to get ready for Kauhajoki (Wednesday) and Lahti (Friday), this is the way we do it here two games a week.
Next week we will take a bus to Joensuu (seven hours) and then we will finally find out whet we are made of.

Vantaa thanks for the attention,
Moi!

HYVAA JOULUA- Dec.26, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Hello there, it is time for a little break, time to spend time with family and relax, but as a coach time to look back, analyze-learn and starting preparations for the games after the break. Basketball has been is a struggle lately, the results ( three game losing streak!) are one thing, but even more worrying is our health situation [read more]
Its been a long time since..- Oct.23, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

No excuses, by bad, mitt fel, mun vika. Have no reason what so ever for this long an absence from this blog. Sorry! Any way, made it with the national team, had some great games (like beating Belgium by 37 and beating Poland at Koszalin) and finished at the top of the group with 6-2 record. So we will be in Slovenia to compete in the Eurobasket 2013 and compete , not participate , is the main word here [read more]
The Next Chapter.- Aug.28, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Its been a very long time since I last posted on this blog. Ive had a battle back and forth to whether Ill even continue playing the great game of basketball as a professional. Getting to this point has been a lifelong dream of mine, one I have pictured over and over since I was a little kid, so to hang up the sneakers now seems surreal. But it appears that I may not have a choice and Ill let what will be, be and know that it will work out. So here is why Ive come to this point [read more]
