Louis White
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!! Today I am going to update you guys on whats going on in Mexico and briefly touch on the politics of the game and the difference between playing in Europe and Latin America.....

First of all, I would like to start by welcoming a good friend from my hometown to our team, Louis White (192-G-76, college: Voorhees)!! Lou and I have played on multiple teams at home and I know his game and know that he is a piece of the puzzle that we needed and with him im looking to do big things... If you are new to my blog; my name is Glenn Stokes (170-G-76, college: American) and I am currently playing in Mexico in the LNBP for the Barreterros of Zacatecas. We are in the first round of the playoffs (best of 5) playing against Abejas of Guanajuanto, who is coached by Joey 'Jelly Bean' Bryant (The father of Kobe Bryant).

We started the series with homecourt advantage but we lost it by losing a close game 1 at home before winning a controversial game 2. Then we went to Guanajuanto and lost game 3 before beating them by nearly 20 points in a much needed game 4 forcing a game 5 and regaining homecourt advantage. This is where the politics came in and the difference of being in Mexico as opposed to being in Europe took place. Earlier I told you guys that we won a controversial game 2.... The controversy was the fact that the 24 second shot clock went out early in the game which meant the announcer had to talk into the mic letting us know when the shot clock was at 10 seconds. Supposedly, they called someone of the board and they gave the ok to play the game!!! Sooooooo, fast forwarding to game 3, where again we lost a close one but turned around and blew them out in game 4; my team, organization and our fans were looking forward to a much anticipated game 5 that was suppose to take place on Monday, January 9th.

That game didnt happen due to Abejas protesting our win saying that our shot clock didnt work and that they deserved to win game 2 by way of forfeit................ The league made a decision based on the information Abejas forwarded to them and they didnt give us a chance to provide anything to appeal it; meaning we lost the series 3-0 but the league said we lost 3-1. Our argument was how can we lose 3-1 if we lost game1, game 2 by forfeit, and game 3 in Guanajuanto.. We actually got swept 3-0 and there was no need to play game 4!!! I guess it was a chance for them to make the extra money and then protest..... ONLY in Mexico have I seen or heard such a thing...

So, yesterday we practiced as usual and just left it in the hands of the league to hear our side and either appeal it or end our season. The rule is that if your scoreboard clock and shot clock is non-functional then you lose by way of a forfeit, BUT...... If one of the other is functional and the other is not, you must pay a fine!!! Since our scoreboard was working we shouldnt lose by forfeit.... Late monday night the decision was made and the outcome was, we will play game 5 on Wednesday but at a neutral site!!!!!

Stay tuned to see how the series ended, but you can expect us to punish them for putting us through the troubles!!!!!

I thank you guys for taking the time out to read my blog and I hope you will continue to follow me and my career... Until next time PEACE, Adios, Ciao!!!!!!
