Happy Thanksgiving from France - Nov 23, 2011

Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving, especially all my friends and family back home! I am very thankful for all the people I have in my life as well as the opportunities basketball has presented me and my family. It has been a great November thus far! I always love this time of year. My grandma celebrated her 85th birthday on the 15th, and I celebrated my 29th last night. Tomorrow Zoi and I will try our luck with a American/French/Greek-European Thanksgiving dinner and instead of watching American Football (NFL) will be watching Euroleague basketball. I am also excited that Christmas is just around the corner. I am sure we all are looking forward to the break and then bringing in the New Year. This New Year will be extra special for Zoi and I, now that we are in the Champagne capital of the world bottles will be popping in style! Zoi and I recently visited the home Dom Perignon just outside Chalon-Reims, it was a great experience as we got to sample champagne and see the country side where most of the worlds champagne comes from.

As for basketball..... I almost forgot I was a player with all the traveling and holiday talk going on. Our team is currently tied for 1st place in the league, and hoping to get a big win this weekend to take a lead in the standings. I guess we will be playing in another gym? It's kind of funny, we play at home but in a different gym then we have been. The reason behind this is.......well honestly I don't know. If you followed my blogs you know that I am playing in the same city with my Fiance Zoi Dimitrakou (188-F-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas), well I guess her team and my team don't get along?? So, I guess someone has to go, and if your a guy you really can't win in a fight with women. So, that means we are going to use the older gym from now on. LOL... It's what happens when adults don't know how to communicate or refuse to communicate. Either way this weekends game is going to be in a new location, and I am not very happy about it. For your entertainment here the article as it read in the local news paper http://www.lunion.presse.fr/article/ardennes/basket-ball-n1-letoile-si-on-retourne-a-dubois-crance-jarrete

The Academy of Future College Athletes (www.afcathletes.com) recently sat down with Marcelus Kemp (196-G-84, agency: SportsTalent, college: Nevada) who currently plays in Turkey (Besiktas Milangaz Istanbul 1903) along side Deron Williams (191-PG-84, college: Illinois) Who last night dropped 50pts in their Eurochallenge game!!! Marcelus is a local product from Seattle's Garfield HS, he's a great inspiration and role model for the players we try and work with. Personally, I think Marcelus is one of the most underrated and underpublicized shooting guards in the Europe. He has been a scoring machine everywhere he has played! Check out the interview on our website http://www.afcathletes.org/AFCA/Kemp.html . In other news Michael Fey recently signed in Hungary, and hasn't hit his cuzzzo up so booo him! To everyone else Have a Happy Happy Thanksgiving , and please help support AFCA by joining our fan page on Facebook or Twitter and continuing to contribute your positive words of encouragement to the kids! Thanks again for reading Corey Belser (200-F-82, college: San Diego)

Tough Days....- Dec.11, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog. Pardon me I have been on some other stuff. But I'm back and around my way it's been a tough few weeks. 1-4 in our last five games dealing with more injuries and this French weather is no joke. Talk about highs and lows to start the season 6-0 and life is smooth then to go 1-4 your next 5 and seems like the world is crashing down. For me I know the season is long and you can't get to high or to low [read more]
Off to a good start!!- Oct.29, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Just a quick update on how the season is going. After the first month we a sitting at 5-0 and still have room to improve. We also won our first French cup game. I have been playing very well and I'm having fun playing with my teammates. The next couple of weeks will be tough. I suffered a back injury and a dislocated finger. So rest and treatment is in order [read more]
Win or go home- Oct.21, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Many players and all Americans know this and if you don't you will find out quick . The game brings all of "us" players joy and we love the it. But there are things that can be fixed and we can start with clubs giving up on the import players so quick. We all know the local players almost never get released. The first ones to go are the imports (players from a different country then he is playing in) weather your having a good season or not if your team is losing you will be the escape goat [read more]
