Whats up Eurobasket. Again I wanted to thank eurobasket for the opportunity to blog, it is definately something I enjoy doing and I also enjoy reading what other bloggers are up to and what their everyday life is like. Since I last posted I officially am done working at the gym and have been going harddd in the gym with workouts. Last week I worked Bonner Basketball Camp in concord and as always had a great time doing so. My team (Indiana State Sycamores) won our league championship!! I was proud of the young kids as they all had great attitudes and it was great being able to work with them all week. The staff of the camp is also great and we all had a great time working together and the pickup was great which featured a lot of pros and former college basketball players. I was also fortunate enough to have Tony Mure there Tony is one of the best trainers around and he would put me through great workouts during lunch and after camp. You want to see a man in freakishly good shape talk to Tony who is notoriously known for running up 5 mile mountains multiple times a week (YES I SAID 5 MILE MOUNTAINS!!). If you think thats not difficult you better check yourself before you wreck yourself. While on the subject of running up mountains, my girlfriend and I decided to do this Warrior Dash run, which is basically where you run up a mountain just pouring with mud and random obstacle courses (jumping over fire, climbing over a 20 foot wall, etc) Lets just say it sounded fun but Im about to be blunt here and it sucked! I was looking to get a great run in and I couldnt run because I literally kept slipping the whole time and faceplanting in mud. My girlfriend felt the same way and 3 days later broke out with poison ivy allllll over her leg (Thanks Warrior Dash)! Only good thing about it was we got free food and chocolate milk. This past week my family was up Ossippee Lake in northern New Hampshire for the 4th of July Weekend. It was a great time and gave me a few days to finally rest my legs and take some time off. It was probably the last time I will be able to spend some quality time with my family and friends until Im off for Germany so I made the most of it (Including dominating Mini Golf and getting a meannnn Sun Burn.) I got back wednesday night and was back to double sessions yesterday starting with my plyometric, footwork and leg workout in the am, and than my conditioning shooting workout at night (Thanks again pops for rebounding for me for an hour and a half than watching me shoot on the gun for another half hour). I just got done with my workout today and am just restin until my summer league game tonight at 8pm. Its go hard or go home time now and am focused as can be. My new coach sent out a very inspiring email the other day that Skyler Bowlin (190-G-89, agency: Warren Sports International, college: Missouri So.) and I were talking about and now I cant wait to get over there and start winning games. Watch out for the Topstar Kangaroos in 2011-2012 we're about to make some noise!
Go Kangaroos!
Im out for now talk to you Eurobasket!

Tony Gaffney | Heading back to the states...awaiting the next chapter- Apr.9, 2012 (by Eurobasket Center) So the season has finally come to an end. Although we had a strong second half of the year we were unable to do all that we wanted to do. I think I had a solid first year individually but always think I could have done better. I am already looking forward to see where we will be next season.

I definitely had a blast in my first season overseas. I made a lot of friends, saw a lot of places, improved different aspects of my game and opened myself up to new experiences. I wouldnt trade my first year here for anything. It is definitely bitter sweet to be heading home as I am unbelievably excited to get home for a bit and see my friends and family and also Kerri and I have a lot of wedding planning to do, but at the same time I am sad to be leaving the town of Augsburg, all of whom I have become close with. It is difficult because who knows where Kerri and I will end up next season and everyone here has been nothing but great to us since day 1.
As for the team and management. I have to say that I was very lucky to be in a situation with such great management in my first season. I got along great with every affiliated with the team and they have taken great care of me since day 1. Anything I have needed or asked for they have taken care of right away. I have formed amazing relationships with everyone and I know we will keep in touch.
To the town of Augsburg. What a beautiful city to live in. Downtown is great and it is definitely an amazing city. An hour away from Munich is great incase we wanted to go into there for a day also. The people are great and we have been invited to many dinners from families who have treated us like their own family. Today even we went to a families house and had an amazing kase spatzel meal that was probably the best meal I have had since coming to Germany. I will definitely miss everyone here.
As for next season I am not sure exactly where we will end up. I want to play at the highest level possible and know I can I just need the opportunity. Now the seasons over and the waiting game begins. I am extremely excited to see my family though especially since we are very close.
Also a shout out to my buddy for getting us tickets to his game (Telekom Bonn Baskets) vs Bayern Munchen. It was a lot of fun for us and Im lucky to have a great friend and am very happy to see him become one of the best players in the Beko BBL.
Thats it for now, I will post throughout the summer! Hope everyone has a great summer and finishes out their seasons strong.

John Bynum | I'm 34 and your point is.....- Apr.5, 2012 (by Eurobasket Center) So a close friend of mine the other day asked me what do you do want to do when you finish playing basketball? So a close friend of mine the other day asked me what do you do want to do when you finish playing basketball? I thought for a second, and I really didnt have a clear answer or anything I could really say back to him. It is sort of funny cause my whole life I have been playing this game that I grew up to love and to be honest it is almost that time where I need to make that decision. The door is closing right before my eyes, but trust me it is not shut all the way and when it is, I will be the first to know, instead of the many that have there opinions about the things I do or dont do well on the court and judge me even if they have never been on the court involved in a basketball game (fans). Im very appreciative for what I have accomplished coming from little Visalia, California and playing division 2 basketball, starting in the regionaliga and working my way up to the BBL. So what will be my options after the season, I know one option it wont be, it will not involve me retiring and not playing when I am still as athletic as most players that I play against each week. When I feel ...and I mean when I feel like I cant help out a team then I will not play anymore. So with that being said that answers the question about me not playing next season. But there will be a time when that day comes when I need to make that decision but that time is not now. It really seems like yesterday I just got into the country and ordered a peporoni pizza and was disspointed cause there were peppers on my pizza. Time has flown by and I cant even tell you where my 20s went but at the same time I wouldnt have traded this experience for anything in the world. Sometimes I know I take this career for granted by the things I do, but without basketball I wouldnt have got to know many of my friends I have to this day and saw many of the places that many can only dream of seeing on television. So yea this blog session was about me not retiring but guess what its my blog and I can write what I want to. Last thing as far as answering my boy who asked me the other day what will I do when I finish playing, Ill answer that when I am actually finished, but until that time comes find me on a court here in Germany bruh.. Take care everyone and Ill talk soon.
its my blog and if you dont like it dont read it John Bynum (191-G-78, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement, college: Metro St.)

Trying to finish strong- Feb.20, 2012 (by Eurobasket Center) Whats up everyone. Its been awhile since my last post so I wanted to fill everyone in. Whats up everyone. Its been awhile since my last post so I wanted to fill everyone in. Recently we have been playing much better and have a legit shot to stay in Pro A despite the fact that a lot of people had no doubt at all we would move down to pro A due to lack of experienced players. This is understandable considering starting the season we were the only team in the league without 1 player who had pro A experience. I think as the season has gone on we have improved and made the adjustments necessary to become a better team. We are competing every game and have had a lot of games that would have resulted in wins had a few things gone our way. All in all this has been a great 1st year overseas. I would love to win more games but I have enjoyed my time spent here in Augsburg and the people have been great. Personally I think I adjusted well especially since I did not play basketball for a year after graduation from college. I am looking forward to see how the end of the season plays out. Expect to see us make a run! I am very fortunate and thankful to be doing what I love for a living and am hoping to keep playing as long as my body allows me too and the opportunities present themselves!
I will check back in at the end of the season but for now have a great one everyone! Finish up your seasons strong and Ill check in later!
