Our team did exactly what we needed to. We started the second part of the season with a win. This game was a big game for us because it was against a very tough opponent Hapoel Kiryat Tivon. During the game we showed flashes of our potential and but also rust from our 7 days off. We went into the fourth quarter tied. Something that isn't comfortable for an away team. We were able to rally to a 79-88 victory. I had 25 points and 8 assists. I played well at the end but I like most of us showed the rust at the beginning of the game. My big man DeVon Hardin (211-C-86) played big for us with a solid double double. 14 points 13 rebounds. Our point guard Nir Golan (180-G-86) had 10 points 5 assists. It was a pretty balanced attack from our team with five players in double figures and Zafrir Volfer (200-F-81) aka the plumber had 9 points and 3 steals. I was particularly happy with the win because I had a special visitor in the stand to watch me play. My mother. My mother is a huge basketball fan and this was her first time watching me play in about 3 years. So for her to watch me play was extra motivation. She is staying with me for a few more days. She will get to catch one more game against Hapoel TA. That is a prime time match between 1 vs 2. Hapoel always brings a tough crowd and on top of they are very talented. We are going to have to be extra focused. We started preparing today and we'll need to be focused throughout the week.

We had an off day yesterday and my mother and I spent it in Jerusalem. This was a great experience for her. We walked all the stations of Via Dolorosa. This was actually a great experience for both of us because it was my first time as well. My mother is the type of person who wants to stop at all the little shops and see what everyone is selling so it's good that I was there and I was able to keep her focused. Anyone who has been to Jerusalem knows that there is literally a shop every ten feet. If there was ever an open spaces someone has filled it with antique shop/spice shop/gift shop. I had to stay on my toes to keep her out of them for the first 40 minutes to an hour but after that she got annoyed with all the barterers and people trying to make a quick buck and offering their fake help. My mother isn't a person really built for the city. Even though she has spent a lot of her life in one. After leaving the hustle and bustle of Jerusalem we took a quick walk to the Garden Tomb. The peace and quiet that we experience was perfect. I think of all the places we went to in Jerusalem this was the place my mother enjoyed the most. She really got to relax and not feel rushed. After that the exit was by the gift shop and of course we got some gifts from there. :) When it was all said and done we got a lot of walking done yesterday and today we are feeling the effects of the walking we did. Sore legs. Well, my mother is feeling the effects. Haha I'm a basketball player I better be able to handle a long walk throw the stone roads of Jerusalem.

So now after the day off it's time to buckle down like I said and prepare for the next match. We have a very tough schedule with us playing the top three teams in the first four games. That leaves us very little room for error. No excuses, we have to bring it every night. I will keep you posted.

Until next time,

Can we bring history to Ashkelon? Final Four? #playoffs- May.13, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Whats up everybody? I am finally feeling motivated to write a new blog. Although the season is nearing its end, the current moment is what it's all about. When the season starts, you go to practice after practice, run sprint after sprint, play game after game just to arrive to the playoffs with the hopes of accomplishing a chip [read more]
Playoff Hunt- Mar.23, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

The season is coming to an end soon and my team and I find ourselves fighting for a playoff spot. After we started the season 0-6, it was hard for me early on to see us in this position, during this part of the season. We have worked very hard and at the same time, had deal with a lot of injuries as a team! More than just a couple of guys have been injured, from season ending to something as simple and common as a cold [read more]
Being The Best You Can Be...- Mar.7, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Everyday when I wake up I thank God for allowing me to see another day and to live in his beautiful world, then I think to myself how can I be the best man I can be today? I dont always make the right choices and actually a lot of times I make the wrong ones but thats where you have to ask for forgiveness and for God to show you the right way. I dont see how people can go through there lives each and everyday having an attitude or not being grateful for the blessings of life [read more]
