Whats good everyone... as usual it has been a minute since ive last talked to you guys on here but let me first off start by giving you an update on our season. We are 7-8 right now and havent been able to keep consistency in our play, but at the same time we are playing hard each time out and are competing with anyone in the leauge. This is a team that fights for 40 minutes each night and has a never say die attitude which has been a positive thing so far this season. I like our chances of making the playoffs if we continue to have this attitude and continue to improve each game like we are doing. A lot of our success this season has been a team effort, and Dru Joyce and Phillip Zwinner are having excellent individual seasons (congrats to Phil for being a starter in the All Star Game), they have emerged as leaders of our team and our sucess is based upon how those two play. It will be interesting to see how we play these next two games before the break because they are must win for us to stay in the playoff hunt before we have a little break in the action. As far as individually so far, I think this season has been up and down as well. I dont think that I am playing up to my potential, but at the same time I think I am helping the team out with a lot of things that dont show up in the stat sheet. A good player doesnt always have to score to stand out and sometimes I tend to forget that as well... cause for most of my career I have played a major part on the offensive end but sometimes you have to do whatever it takes to help the team win and sometimes that involves checking your ego (which is very hard to do sometimes). I did find out today that I will be participating in the dunk contest as well and yes most fans in Germany thought it was a misprint.. but to answer some of the questions that I have been asked... 1. Yes I can dunk. 2. Yes I can do more than a one handed or two handed dunk 3. I may suprise a couple of people so dont turn your head... lol.
But either way it should be a good time doing that especially with the All Star Events being in Trier as well. Well I guess the last thing that I want to talk about is a problem that most players have when they come over here and ways that you can deal with things. There is always gonna be problems that you have to deal with during the season whether its personal, team related, or just anything that you are not used to dealing with in your everyday life. No matter what you do, try and be professional about it the best way that you can when it comes time to lace up your shoes for practice and games. I know from my experience in the past couple weeks it is tough being away from home when you are dealing with things off the court that may affect your everyday life. Try and stay focused and remember the real reason why you are over here and talk to people in your circle if you are feeling down. If you make a mistake, admit it and try and do whatever it takes to try and fix it and also try not to make the same mistake twice or three times (jk). Keep your head in the sky and work at becoming better and dont let the little things get to you cause no matter how bad you have it someone may have it worse than you whether its being paid late, getting shoes, or something like that... be thankful for what you have and try and earn what you dont have by working hard and stay focused on whats important to you cause nobody can do it for you except yourself. Happy Holidays from Trier and god bless everyone and thank you for whoever took the time to read my thoughts. Talk to you guys soon and have a Merry Christmas.

Heading back to the states...awaiting the next chapter- Apr.9, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

So the season has finally come to an end. Although we had a strong second half of the year we were unable to do all that we wanted to do. I think I had a solid first year individually but always think I could have done better. I am already looking forward to see where we will be next season. I definitely had a blast in my first season overseas. I made a lot of friends, saw a lot of places, improved different aspects of my game and opened myself up to new experiences [read more]

I'm 34 and your point is.....- Apr.5, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

So a close friend of mine the other day asked me what do you do want to do when you finish playing basketball? I thought for a second, and I really didnt have a clear answer or anything I could really say back to him. It is sort of funny cause my whole life I have been playing this game that I grew up to love and to be honest it is almost that time where I need to make that decision [read more]
Trying to finish strong- Feb.20, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Whats up everyone. Its been awhile since my last post so I wanted to fill everyone in. Recently we have been playing much better and have a legit shot to stay in Pro A despite the fact that a lot of people had no doubt at all we would move down to pro A due to lack of experienced players. This is understandable considering starting the season we were the only team in the league without 1 player who had pro A experience [read more]
