Hello world this is Joshua Jones (196-G-83, college: Dillard) and tonight we had a tough battle against one of our top rivals in the league,Al Hurriya, and with a couple of calls that could have went in our favor and a couple of smarter decisions we could have came out with the victory. We have two imports on our team and in Syria there is a rule that only allows one import on the court at a time and this is something that I have to get use too. I had 22 points and 12 rebounds and I had to split the game playing two quarters a piece with my fellow teammate. It is a rough transition having to warm up, come out the game, only to warm up and come back in the game again. The atmosphere in the arena was crazy, this is my fourth season playing in the middle east and this was the first time in which I have witnessed such a thing. Each team had there own fan section. I also realized how small the world is by meeting up with the point guard for the opposing team, Phillip Brooks (188-G-84, college: Langston). Phillip is also from Texas like myself and we share the same powerhouse agency, TEAMUNITY, which is founded by Hend Abufarie and Gheith Najjar. TEAMUNITY is one of the top agencies, and they also have another player which is also a good friend of mine Christien Charles (213-F/C-81, college: Villanova) with the Jeish team that also plays in Syria. We met during the Asian games in Jakarta in 2009 and now we are playing against each other in the same country.Well I am getting hungry writing this blog so now it's time for me to catch a taxi and eat some of the great food that Syria is famous for. Until next time, Joshua Jones.

I like to say you write your checks I'm the off season and cash them in during the season. The gyms will be packed, players will compete to show who has progressed the most during the season. It's time to put it in over drive for the up coming season. I wish everyone a great and healthy off season. I will check in soon. Josh Jones [read more] | |

Hard Work and Preparation- Aug.3, 2011 (by Eurobasket Center) Good Evening, America Good Morning across the world! It has been a while since I updated my blog so I just wanted to stop by and drop a few lines. This summer has been a great summer and I feel like a lot has been accomplished on my end. Two a day workouts, multiple diets, thousands of jumpshots, ball handling drills, defense drills and the list goes on and on. Two a day workouts, multiple diets, thousands of jumpshots, ball handling drills, defense drills and the list goes on and on. With the NBA having a lockout the summer runs down in Houston has been pretty competitive. A lot of blood and sweat has been shed this off season in preparation for this upcoming season. I am extremely excited about the upcoming opportunities that will come with this season. With this being my fifth season overseas I have learned how to pace myself and prepare myself mentally as well as of physically for the upcoming season. To all of my fellow international players keep working hard and stay focused. Until next time! J.Jones

A lot of guys are now returning home from the season and I can tell you that this off season will be a competitive one. A lot of blood and sweat are shed throughout the season and as you get older you begin to appreciate the off season. I would say I can't wait to go on a vacation but I guess when you are overseas for 3/4 of the year being home is your vacation. Safe travels to everyone and just like most of the ball players around the world I am ancious to see what country and what next season has in store. I can tell you it's only April and I can't wait. Until next time. J.Jones
