Greetings Basketball World!!!! Welcome to my FIRST EVER blog. I am grateful for the opportunity Eurobasket has provided me to share my experiences and thoughts with so many people. Being a professional basketball player in Europe has definitely allowed me to live out a dream I could have never imagined as a child.
As many of you all already know, this is my 5th season as a Professional European Basketball Player. Usually when people hear my name they think George Mason's 2006 'Cinderrella' team, but since turning pro in 2006, I have played in France, Croatia, Italy and now Germany. While it has not always been a smooth ride for me, I consider myself to have been very fortunate in my professional career.
This year has been unlike any other. I did not sign with my team (New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig) until late September & after arriving on October 1st I played my first regular season game a couple days later. While I was excited to play my first game, it was definitely a challenge to get over the jet lag and play team basketball with a team thats been practicing together throughout preseason. I am proud to say, I did get through that game and here i am.
Fast forward, today, we are 3-4 and the games we have lost have come down to the very last minutes. Looking back, I get frustrated reviewing the games we lost; they are those games you beat yourself up about because you had a chance to win them. Needless to say, I am still learning the dynamics of my team & Im sure my team is adjusting to having a new team member. But, the past is the past, and Im focused on the games to come. I expect great things from my team, and I am hopeful we will go far. I am truly blessed to have signed with a team that is professional, to have teammates that have welcomed me with open arms and to be in a country where the food options are great! Now, if only I could learn the language?
I invite you to follow me on my blog throughout this season. I hope to give you a glimpse into my world; both the good and the sometimes bad.
Until next time, Bon Voyage, Ciao, Bye, Adios or whatever language you speak

Tony Skinn (185-G-83, college: George Mason) is American pro players, who plays currently in Braunschweig in German 1.Bundesliga

Heading back to the states...awaiting the next chapter- Apr.9, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

So the season has finally come to an end. Although we had a strong second half of the year we were unable to do all that we wanted to do. I think I had a solid first year individually but always think I could have done better. I am already looking forward to see where we will be next season. I definitely had a blast in my first season overseas. I made a lot of friends, saw a lot of places, improved different aspects of my game and opened myself up to new experiences [read more]

I'm 34 and your point is.....- Apr.5, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

So a close friend of mine the other day asked me what do you do want to do when you finish playing basketball? I thought for a second, and I really didnt have a clear answer or anything I could really say back to him. It is sort of funny cause my whole life I have been playing this game that I grew up to love and to be honest it is almost that time where I need to make that decision [read more]
Trying to finish strong- Feb.20, 2012  (by Eurobasket Center)

Whats up everyone. Its been awhile since my last post so I wanted to fill everyone in. Recently we have been playing much better and have a legit shot to stay in Pro A despite the fact that a lot of people had no doubt at all we would move down to pro A due to lack of experienced players. This is understandable considering starting the season we were the only team in the league without 1 player who had pro A experience [read more]
